Double Acts (Chapter 1: A double split friendship)

''Oh gosh, how the heck is it 7am ALREADY?!" moaned Misty as she reached out from her bed and tried to find the snooze button to shut her mum up. "Wakey wakey sweetie, it's Friday and time for school" chirped her mother, even though her daughter was still whacking her up the head trying to get her to shut up and go away. "Misty, get up or no pancakes." Said her mother. She couldn't handle it. Misty sat up in bed, turned around and bolted up and out the door towards the kitchen for a special Friday breakfast, her favourite, Pancakes with butter and sugar. Simple but beautiful. After the usual morning routine of breakfast, get changed, go to bathroom, yada yada yip yip, It was time to leave for school. Misty was a fifth year at her school. she was also one of the younger ones in her class, turning 16 after the Christmas break. Most days were the same at Misty's school, Grace would draw while Evie played her guitar and Kat was trying to deal with her new kitten Whisper who kept sneaking into school in her bag all the while Jack was telling pirate stories while the other three worked at their tasks. Tay and Rosie would be talking about nearly anything and Dylan would still be crushing on Ella and she would know nothing about it even though Elaina and Maddy would be dropping her hints left, right and centre. All in all most days were the same at Hartelson High, which was extremely boring for Misty and nearly everyone else as well, but this day was different, Misty didn't know why she just, felt it...

It was only until registration Misty realised what was different, and that something was a she. There was a new girl in the class, she was wearing brown hoodie that went red as it went towards the centre and a pair of brown-yellow leggings, she had dark chestnut hair and green eyes. She looked kinda like a robin.  "Good morning class, today you might have noticed there is a new student. This is Robyn" said Mrs Brixton cheerily as the young girl stood up "I want you all to make her feel welcome. Now, who would like to be Robyn's buddy until she gets used to life here? "I will, I guess." Said Misty, only because no one else would have. Luckily the only spare seat in the class was beside Misty so after Mrs Brixton said OK Robyn moved over and sat down at her new desk. "Hi, I'm uhh Robyn... But I guess you know that..." Said Robyn shyly. "I'm  Misty and I guess I'm your uhh guide... But I guess you already knew that" said Misty and they both laughed. "You know I'm starting to like my new school, I'm glad you have you for a guide Misty. I think this might be a great friendship for all- uhh both of us" said Robyn "I think so to." Replied Misty, not really knowing what Robyn Kent by 'all of us' but it was something she would know very soon... Well if everything went to plan that is...
